El mar en la libertad creativa de Ignacio Pinazo

Ignacio Pinazo is considered by criticism as one of the key figures of the spanish pictorial panaorama of the late 19th century. He was independent and no conformist, as such he chose the freedom of a totally personal style in his paintings, which isolated him from of the academic circles and any international projection. Our objective is to study how his painting of the sea strengthened his creative freedom, making him a precusor in his time by his recommending an informal abstraction in his paintings which are characterized by small spaces of personal experiment, whith light and color. We shall concentrate on the creative process of his landscape by analyzing the concepts which gave a sense to his free painting and led him, from the 1880, to envolve into a style of painting whithin the limits of abstraction and thus making him one of the most original and most singular creators of the late 19th.
