Sédulius, le Chant de Pâques.

Abstract : Annotated translation with introduction and notes of the Carmen Paschale and the Opus Paschale of Sedulius (circa 430). The work presents itself as an evocation of the miracles of Christ and was composed by its author in two versions, an epic and exegetical poem, and a treatise in prose. Both works have 5 books: the first is devoted to a story of miracles of the Old Testament presented as announcing the coming of Christ, the following four books are a versified life of Jesus, with a particular stress on miracles (books 3 and 4) and including a large number of Christological and moral commentaries. The édition contains a presentation of the work, its production environment and sources, as well as an analysis of the composition of the poem.
