Trama della vita e stili di esistenza

Abstract : The notion of bios is a key concept of Foucault's research. In his studies on the ancient world, the bios looks like an ethical substance for self-transformation. This paper investigates the similarities and discontinuities between the notion of bios that we find in the last courses of Foucault and the concept of bios as "creative force" of life that we find in Foucault's previous research. The notion of a "way of life" plays a key role in exploring this issue. The notion of bios also raises a reflection on the dimension of being-in-common
