Strategic management of BoP initiatives: an empirical application to the case of company Nestlé in Africa

Abstract : We propose a framework for the management of BOP strategies and test this model based on the case of the company Nestlé in Cameroon. We define BOP strategies as advanced CSR strategies aimed at very poor populations. These BOP strategies are developed by private companies proposing specially- designed products and services, often radical innovations involving local communities into the processes of development, production and distribution of goods. The framework we propose is empirically validated through a detailed case study of the BOP strategies implemented by the company Nestlé in Cameroon, Africa.
